Meet Casey,

Owner & Lead Designer

I'm Casey, the owner and lead floral designer of Cultivate Event Co. That means I run the floral consultations, curate the floral recipes, execute the design elements for your big day, and so much more.

I live in Richmond, Virginia, with my fiancé, Elliot, where we can be found going for evening walks, trying new restaurants, and performing improv at The Coalition Theater.

I love to watch true crime and reality competition shows (namely, The Challenge and The Bachelor) and use a lot of exclamation points in my emails. I’m insanely good at packing a vehicle (it’s like real-life Tetris) and predicting how TV shows and movies will end. I will literally stop to smell the roses and always need “just a little something sweet” after dinner.

My favorite floral designs typically include sweet peas, spirea, peonies and specialty garden roses.

Meet Michelle, Operations Manager & Associate Designer

Hi, I am Michelle, a lifelong maximalist and vintage reality TV aficionado. I manage the day-to-day function of the studio space, maintain our ever-growing rental inventory, and assist with the floral design for our clients.

Having danced for more than 30 years, passion for creativity and beauty brought me to the world of flowers. I enjoy performing improv, expanding my Sonny Angel collection, and spending time with my partner, Dakota, with our old man dog, Frank.

Flowers enchant me because they are endlessly versatile and beautiful in all their phases. Preserved flowers hold a special place because they have an ability to represent a memory and moment in time.

Poppies, delphinium, feverfew, sweet peas, and tulips are just a few of my favorite flowers to design with.

why cultivate?

Cultivate directly references our mission: to continually grow in our expertise in wedding design, to foster strong connections with fellow wedding vendors, and to develop an intentionally curated aesthetic for each of our couples and their events.

Casey made me the most beautiful bouquet; I cried when I saw it and I didn’t even cry trying on my dress. I gave her 1000 ideas and she somehow took everything I was trying to say and every emotion I was feeling and put it into my flowers. They represented me and my partner so well! We got married on the bay with the water behind us and gorgeous flowers and friends all around us. Casey is professional, caring, and treats you like her own BFF. Thank you for making my day full of color and love!
