Hi! I'm Casey, the owner and lead designer of Cultivate Event Co. That means I run the floral consultations, create the floral recipes, execute the design elements for your big day, and so much more.
My aesthetic is lush and organic, and I live for muted, muddy colors and pastel tones. Coordinating color palettes is one of my all-time favorite things to do (aside from designing flowers, playing with puppies, drinking coffee, and watching true-crime documentaries).
Growing up, I was a flower lover, but never thought I'd be a florist. So I studied English and became a writer instead until I couldn't stay away from flowers any longer and finally gave in to pursue my dream of being a wedding florist.
My favorite flowers include garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, hellebores, dahlias, and sweet peas (seriously, who can pick just one?).
Outside of work, I live in Carytown with my sweet partner, Elliot, and I coach, teach, and perform improv at The Coalition Theater in Jackson Ward.
Why Cultivate?
The name Cultivate reflects our mission: to carefully curate a garden-style design aesthetic for our clients; to nurture relationships with our clients, fellow creatives, and wedding vendors; and to seek continual growth in our event design and execution expertise.
Here are 5 things I can't live without:
1. Coffee: Duh. The Chocolate Lavender flavor from The Fresh Market is the best flavor of all time, but I'm also happy with a nice dark roast (black, please - I’m lactose intolerant).
2. Animal videos: Any and all downtime is spent finding cute animal (mostly dog and goat) videos to either laugh or cry at then force Elliot to watch.
3. A chunky sweater: I have two body temperatures: blaze or freezing. For the times I'm freezing, I have to have a thick sweater nearby (preferably the lavender one I bought from Target during a treat yoself shopping spree two years ago).
4. Candles: I almost always have one lit and I'm obsessed with citrus and musk smells. My favorite is Amber & Moss from PF Candle Co.
5. Sweets: Any and all kinds, please. I'm known for having a sweet tooth and I've even walked in the rain to get a late-night cupcake before.
Now that you know a little about me, I'd love to get to know you!, please
