Romantic Burgundy and Blush Autumn Wedding at Dover Hall

J&M were a dream to work with this past fall at Dover Hall Estate for their Richmond, VA, wedding. As a compliment to the rich red tones present in the decor at the gorgeous venue, and a nod to the fall season, this sweet couple chose to include burgundy foliage with their white and blush wedding flowers.

Shot by Brett Denfeld Photography, with planning and event design by Alana Futcher, the day was filled with a perfect mix of delicate flowers, deep foliage, and warm candlelight. J came to me wanting a dreamy and romantic vibe for her day, so we chose to use airy draping to define the ceremony space, along with lush arrangements of white and blush roses, dahlias, and spray roses, with pops of burgundy foliage.

For the reception space, we mixed candles and greenery to give the space a warm glow with floral compotes in delicate glass vases and accents of silver votives. We used a variety of garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, butterfly ranunculus, astrantia, astilbe, gomphrena, eucalyptus, jasmine vine, nandina, and ninebark foliage to bring J’s vision to life.

One spot J wanted to focus on was the grand foyer space at Dover Hall. To give guests a warm welcome, we filled the front half of the table with a mix of floating stemware candles, silver and glass votives that complimented the guest tables, and vines of greenery.
